New Sermon Series Begins this Weekend!

Hi Hope Folks,

For almost two years, I’ve been looking forward to the new sermon series we are about to embark upon together as a church family, called The Jesus Tour

In October of 2012, Sally and I had the once in a life-time opportunity to travel with friends to the Holy Land for a 17-day tour through parts of Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, Israel, Jordan and Egypt. While there, I observed things that brought familiar Bible stories to life in a whole new way! From the small hillside town of Bethlehem where Jesus was born, to the muddy river where he was baptized, to the stunning holy city where he died and rose from the dead, I gained a new and deeper appreciation for events and places that stand at the center of our faith.

For me, it was like the Bible went from two-dimensions in black-and-white, to a 3D full-color big-screen high-definition view of Jesus’ earthly life!

I want you to “see” what I saw, and gain a more colorful and complete understanding of these foundational Bible stories … whether or not you’ve ever been to the Middle East.

So, for the next nine weeks, we’re taking “The Jesus Tour” at Hope! This weekend, Pastor Jeremy and I will preach on the opening scenes of Jesus’ ministry with a message called A Muddy River & A Majestic Mountain.

You aren’t going to want to miss this trip! Bring a Bible and a few friends … we’ll provide the maps!

P.S.- Save the dates! Hope’s 20th Birthday is All Saints’ Weekend, November 1 & 2, and we’re going all out to celebrate – special weekend services, a free concert featuring the Valley Singers from Valley High School and the internationally acclaimed Nordic Choir from Luther College, a ginormous all-church classic-Lutheran potluck dinner on Saturday, and of course plenty of birthday cake for one and all! There’s no party like a Jesus party!
